Music is an integral part of the worship expression found throughout the Scriptures. The largest book in the Bible is a hymnal where we read of songs that the people of God would sing to cry out in the midst of their joy, adoration toward The Lord, and even lamentations in the midst of their pain.
One of the ways in which we reflect our nature as image bearers of God is by creating. In Genesis we read of a creative God Who spoke creation into existence. Our heart at Rivertree is to use the creativity God has birthed in us as an expression of our worship and gratitude.
Today, as we stand on the other side of the cross and an empty tomb, as followers of Jesus who have been saved by the grace of God, we have much to sing about.
Jesus is deserving of our affections, He is deserving of our attention, and our prayer at Rivertree is that you would find a group of people who are acutely aware of all that we have been rescued from, and that we would be a people of song.
This includes lighting, sound, songs, and other creative expressions. Our heart is not to pursue these creative avenues for our own glory, but to point the world around us to the saving grace found in Jesus.
This is what you’ll find with Rivertree Music: A group of believers who are imperfect but longing to point people to the perfection of Jesus by using the gifts that God has generously given.
